Description
幹から太い気根を出した姿がタコに似ていて、熱帯植物らしい形です。先の尖った細長い葉を密生して四方に広げます。葉縁と葉裏の主脈には鋭い刺があります。
ビヨウタコノキ（美容蛸の木）は別種（Pandanus utillis、原産マダガスカル）で、青緑色の長く直立した螺旋状の葉が美しい。果実は長さ4～5cmくらい有り、この中に数個の種子があり、実全体の姿は、パイナップルのようで、バナナのような感じです。
